There is a Latin maxim, "Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi," which expresses the idea that how one worships reflects what one believes, and ultimately how one lives. The Reverend Jeremiah Wright presided at the wedding of the Obama's, baptized their children, and has served as their pastor for twenty years -- plenty of time for a congregant to be aware of, and accept or reject, the kind of racism and hatred he preaches.
