Bad Omen for Border Security: Napolitano May Run DHS

From American Patrol Report

According to the Arizona Republic, "Gov. Janet Napolitano is President-elect Barack Obama's choice to lead the Department of Homeland Security, multiple news agencies reported late Wednesday."

Napolitano opposes the border fence and supports a guest worker program.

There is very strong evidence that the border fence has helped cut smuggling to such a degree that Mexican drug cartels are fighting over remaining corridors. "The drug cartel war in Mexico is the direct result of our border security measures, especially fences and barriers, and, as we finished the job, they will eventually burn themselves out," said Glenn Spencer of APR.

"Americans will find it difficult to believe that Obama would push a guest worker program when millions of them are unemployed, but that looks like where we're headed," Spencer said.

"This is a very bad omen for the people of Arizona and the entire nation," Spencer said. "I now understand why the Arizona Republic ran a ridiculous report that ladders were being used on the border," he said.

Spencer said American Border Patrol would work to get its border assessment report to the
Senate Committee that will consider Napolitano's appointment.

  1. if her years of failing to secure the Mexico-AZ border are any indication, then she's on track to do a horrendous job securing the whole country
