"Ave Verum Corpus" - W. Amadeus Mozart

Friday marked the 83rd birthday of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, and Monday will be the fifth anniversary of his election as the 265th Vicar of Christ and successor to Saint Peter. Therefore, we dedicate to him this sublime hymn, attributed to Pope Innocent VI (14th c.) and set to music by Pope Benedict's favorite composer, W. Amadeus Mozart. God grant that he may long be "a light in darkness around which we gather in hope."
