Christina Jeffrey, Jim Lee's Best Recruiter

***This post has been updated here.***

Christina Jeffrey may be one of the most entertaining candidates to seek public office this year. From her well-publicized tenure as House historian for four days until comments about the Nazi regime and the holocaust were exposed, to her recent declaration that South Carolinians are "in-breds," to questions about all the various candidates she claims to have supported for President in 2008, Jeffrey gives new meaning to the term loose cannon.

What is not well known is that she may be the single best recruiter for the Jim Lee campaign.

In less than one year she has had six campaign managers, including your scribe (#3). At least four of us now solidly support Jim Lee, the conservative seeking the Republican nomination in the 4th Congressional District.

As with her presidential support in 2008, Jeffrey has conflicting explanations as to why campaign manager #4 left. She tells some supporters that he needed to tend to spring chores on his farm in Honea Path. Others are told the unpaid volunteer was fired for insubordination.

Campaign manager #4 has an autistic son who needs full-time supervision. Jeffrey wanted her campaign manager to place yard signs on a busy highway, but campaign manager #4 declined because he had no one to watch his son. She insisted he take the boy along. But campaign manager #4 thought that would be unsafe; hence, the insubordination charge.

We didn't have time to learn the identity of campaign manager #5; apparently he was dispatched within 48 hours. Now we learn that Jeffrey is taking campaign advice from Dean Allen. The candidate for Adjutant General has advised her to go hard negative. Given Jeffrey's troubled history with volunteers, we wonder if South Carolina's loosest cannon really wants to involve in her campaign a gentleman who knows how to use an AK-47.

  1. Outstanding article Daniel. Not sure how Ms. Jeffrey still has any support given this questionable temperament you describe. She sounds quite unstable. Do you think there is any chance that someone linked to her campaign is behind the defacement of Jim Lee's campaign website or stealing his yard signs? Not accusing her but just thinking that loose cannon's probably attract other loose cannons

  2. Thanks, Anon. When confronted with her lies about who she supported in the 2008 presidential campaign, her attempts to censor FaceBook entries, the lack of support from family members and conservative leaders who know her best, or her conflicting stories about why former volunteers want nothing more to do with her, the campaign response is "the ultimate goal is to win.” She has lost a House race in Georgia, a General Assembly race in SC, and she is headed for strike three. She knows Jim Lee draws from the same pool of voters and she has a very condescending attitude toward him, as she does most people. She is becoming desperate and it shows.

  3. You've confirmed what I suspected. She really is the "nutty professor."

  4. If you had met her son, then you know what she meant by her inbred comment to the Rocky Mountain Newspaper back in 2007. Her first husband must have been her first cousin. Her son tried to intimidate a local activist at the Greenville GOP meeting and almost ended up thrown to the ground by the activist. Then Jeffrey and her son called the campus police (the event was held at Greenville Tech). By the way, isn't she from North Georgia...Deliverance country???

  5. The first rule of thumb in working for a candidate is that if they don't have the resources to run a campaign, or have a long track record of not winning elections, don't get involved.

If either, or both, are the case, the odds are smart, qualified people tried working with them in the past and they didn't listen. That's why they didn't win previously and nobody will give money to them.

  6. Have you heard any details regarding Jeffrey's attempt to crash the Upcountry Coalition meeting last night in Greenville? All I know is that both Jeffrey and Allen were (appropriately so) denied access after trying to force their way in.
