Greenville, SC GOP Executive Committee Unanimously Calls for Nullification of Obamacare

The Greenville County Republican Party Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution on Monday calling upon its state legislative delegation to cosponsor and support legislation for the nullification of Obamacare.

The resolution was sponsored by Harry Kibler, the committee's First Vice Chairman and an indefatigable grassroots leader of RINO Hunt, an organization committed to smaller, transparent, accountable and responsible government.  It characterizes the federal government's takeover of the nation's health delivery services as "a violation of the enumerated powers of the federal government" and "inconsistent with the limited powers outlined in the U.S. Constitution.

We salute Harry Kibler and the Greenville County Republican Executive Committee for their urgently needed defense of the Constitution and the rights of states under that Constitution.  We are proud of our local political leaders for doing their duty.  Unfortunately, we will all have to do far more to force our state constitutional officers and the South Carolina Legislature to do their duty and exhibit the bold and courageous leadership South Carolinians need and want.

Resolution

1. Whereas the United States was formed by the several states according to the will of the people, and
2. Whereas the form of government that was created was a representative republic and not a democracy, and
3. Whereas the Declaration of Independence recognizes that all power originates from the people, and
4. Whereas the federal government was limited in power by the Constitution, and
5. Whereas the ninth and tenth amendments to the constitution clearly recognizes individual states and the people as retaining all power not delegated to the federal government, and
6. Whereas the Founders never intended the U.S. Supreme Court to be the final arbiter of the Constitution, and
7. Whereas the federal government has never been a party to the compact created by the states, and
8. Whereas the federal government has taken upon itself powers not delegated to it by the Constitution or prohibited by the Constitution to the states, and
9. Whereas in times past when a constitutional crisis has arisen, the states have placed rightful checks and balances on the overreaching authority of the federal government, and
10. Whereas the practice of Nullification has been used successfully in recent times,

Be it resolved;

1. The Greenville County Republican Party finds the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" a violation of the enumerated power of the federal government, and
2. The Greenville County Republican Party finds the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling inconsistent with the limited powers outlined in the U.S. Constitution, and
3. The Greenville County Republican Party hereby endorses and supports legislation intended to Nullify the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" in the State of South Carolina, and
4. The Greenville County Republican Party encourages its Legislative Delegation to cosponsor and support the passage of such legislation.
