Crystal Palace to be Rebuilt on Original Victorian Era Site

The historic Crystal Palace, which was once the largest glass structure in the world, is to be rebuilt as a modern-day cultural attraction on its original site in south-east London.

The new build will be on the same size and scale as the gigantic prefabricated building of iron and glass, designed by Joseph Paxton for the 1851 Great Exhibition in Hyde Park.
Seen as a feat of British engineering, it was the largest glass structure in the world before it was destroyed by fire in 1936.
