Christina Jeffrey finished dead last out of five candidates in the June 2, SC Fourth Congressional District GOP Primary; but apparently no one bothered to tell the eccentric professor, or she has decided to continue her quixotic campaign anyway.
In a blog post dated November 11, 2010, an Atlanta supporter has announced a Money Bomb to help Jeffrey's indefatigable and endless campaign. Perhaps they are counting on die-hard Jeffrey supporters to be too inebriated to know what they are doing. According to the post, the Money Bomb is scheduled for December 31, 2010 - New Years Eve.
Jeffrey, a machine gun-toting grandmother who has called South Carolinians "inbreds," is an entertaining fixture in upstate GOP politics. After insisting that she had supported Duncan Hunter for President in 2008, and Ron Paul, and Fred Thompson, and Mike Huckabee, pictures ultimately surfaced showing Jeffrey only had eyes for Rudy.
During the course of the campaign, Jeffrey had to be removed by Greenville County Police for crashing an opponent's private meeting. More recently, a Christian businessman, who was the landlord for Jeffrey's Taylors campaign headquarters, also had to call Greenville County Police when she would not leave his premises. The landlord had accepted numerous late rent payments but nevertheless agreed to waive the final month's rent if Jeffrey vacated the offices by June 1, 2010. She failed to do so, and when the landlord refused to refund a security deposit, Jeffrey staged a sit-in at his business. Greenville County Police eventually escorted her off the property.
Since the colorful Jeffrey campaign continues, we would suggest this classic for a campaign theme song.
