'Extremism' Report 'Tip of the Iceberg'
Lawyer: Napolitano's promise to 'reword' document 'scary'
From WorldNetDaily
By Bob Unruh
A lawyer pursuing a lawsuit against Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano over an "extremist" report her agency issued that linked 2nd Amendment supporters, pro-life activists and others with terror says he's concerned by Napolitano's promise to "reword" the report.
"She says, 'Well, we're going to reword the document – and we're going to make it more precise,'" Richard Thompson, chief of the Thomas More Law Center, told WND today. "That's scary because we know they are still going to maintain some kind of targeting for various people that she's never apologized to or never retracted [her accusations]."
At issue is the agency's "Rightwing Extremism" report called "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." WND has posted the report online for readers to see.

Now Veterans are Dangerous Right-Wing Extremists
From The Washington Times
By Audrey Hudson
A contentious "Rightwing Extremism" report that warned of military veterans as possible recruits for terrorist attacks against the U.S. was not authorized, has been withdrawn and is being rewritten, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Capitol Hill lawmakers.
"The wheels came off the wagon because the vetting process was not followed," Ms. Napolitano told the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday.
"The report is no longer out there," she said. "An employee sent it out without authorization."
The report was shared with state and local law enforcement officials nationwide via the department's internal Web site on April 7, angering Republican lawmakers and military veterans who said it unfairly stereotyped veterans.
Ms. Napolitano did not say when the report was taken off the "intel Web site" and all Homeland Security Department Web sites, but she said it is in the process of being "replaced or redone in a much more useful and much more precise fashion."

Pandemic Feared As Swine Flu Spreads
Scientists search for answers in new strain
A new swine flu strain that has killed as many as 81 people and sickened more than 1,000 across Mexico has "pandemic potential," the World Health Organization chief said Saturday, and it may be too late to contain the sudden outbreak.
Mexico's president assumed new powers Saturday to isolate people infected with a deadly swine flu strain as authorities struggled to contain the outbreak.

Bad Omen for Border Security: Napolitano May Run DHS
Napolitano opposes the border fence and supports a guest worker program.
"Americans will find it difficult to believe that Obama would push a guest worker program when millions of them are unemployed, but that looks like where we're headed," Spencer said.
"This is a very bad omen for the people of Arizona and the entire nation," Spencer said. "I now understand why the Arizona Republic ran a ridiculous report that ladders were being used on the border," he said.
Spencer said American Border Patrol would work to get its border assessment report to the Senate Committee that will consider Napolitano's appointment.
