School won't reprimand driver who called student "Stupid Little Bigot"

An Indiana family has filed a civil lawsuit against a local school bus driver caught on tape harassing their daughter to the point of tears and calling her a "stupid little bigot" based on her pro-family views.

Several news stations reported the story with video from a school bus camera capturing Carmel School Bus Driver Betty Campbell's tirades, sparked after the girl said she would not have voted for President Obama based on his pro-abortion and pro-same-sex "marriage" agenda. The exchange took place in November 2008, one day after Obama was elected to the presidency.

On the video, Campbell can be heard addressing a black student with reference to the pro-family student saying: "If she says anything racial to you, I want to know about it 'cause I'm going to eat her alive. I mean it." After the student said he did not listen to the girl, Campbell replied, "Well, you're a smart guy, and Rachael is a stupid little bigot."

"That's not someone looking out for someone. That's someone out to get somebody," remarked Dr. Ed Zimmer, the girl's father.

Campbell is heard in another portion of the footage telling students: "If you can't believe in tolerance toward one another, you don't belong here. You belong in a parochial church school."

In addition, the parents note that after dropping off the students along with their daughter and her sister, Campbell summoned the two girls back onto the bus, without their parents' consent. There, the bus driver lectured the girl on reasons to support same-sex "marriage" as the student can be seen on the school bus camera footage crying.

"I don't want to hear one more word about anyone going to hell if they are gay or if they're Buddhist or whatever, 'cause it's none of your damn business," Campbell can be heard saying in a separate portion of the video. However, Zimmer said during a deposition that Campbell admitted under oath she had never heard the girl actually say those words, according to a CBS report.

Carmel Clay Schools refused to fire Campbell, reportedly denying some of the parents' claims; Zimmer told news outlets that the school told him Campbell was "working within the scope of her employment."

The girl's parents sued the school district in August 2009, alleging emotional distress was inflicted upon their daughter, and seeking to make the district pay damages and court costs. The trial is scheduled to begin in December.

Attempts by LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) to reach Dr. Zimmer were unanswered as of press time. Dana Kendall, assistant to the superintendent at Carmel Clay Schools, declined to comment to LSN on Zimmer's statements or on whether Campbell had been disciplined because of the pending litigation.

'What makes you think it's natural to be heterosexual?': Christian teacher suspended over gay rights promotion row---

A senior teacher has been suspended from his £50,000-a-year job after he complained that a training day for staff was used to promote gay rights.

Kwabena Peat, 54, was one of several Christian staff who walked out of the compulsory session at a North London school after an invited speaker questioned why people thought heterosexuality was natural.

The presentation was given by Sue Sanders, a co-founder of the Schools Out organisation which campaigns for gay equality in education.

According to Mr Peat, Ms Sanders, herself a lesbian, said that staff who did not accept that being gay was normal had ‘issues’ they had to deal with.

Mr Peat, a history teacher who is also a head of year, said he was upset that people who disagreed on religious grounds had no chance to respond.

He wrote privately to the three staff members who organised the session, complaining about Ms Sanders’ ‘aggressive’ presentation. In his letter, he cited the Bible and warned that practising homosexuals risked God’s ‘wrath’.

But the staff complained to the school’s principal that they felt ‘harassed and intimidated’ by the letter and, after an investigation, Mr Peat was placed on paid leave. He is now being supported by the Christian Legal Centre.

‘I am very disappointed, although not shocked,’ the married father of three said last night. ‘I am the one who has been harassed and intimidated – for expressing my religious views.’..."

"Ms Sanders, 62, founded the voluntary organisation Schools Out in 1974. However, the £850 training session was organised by Chrysalis, a training team that specialises in diversity issues.

Mr Peat said he had expected her merely to provide information to help teachers handle homophobic bullying, but she had gone much further.

‘She started promoting homosexual lifestyles and suggesting those who had objections should sort out their prejudices. She said, “What makes you all think that to be heterosexual is natural?” It was at that point I walked out.’..."

"Ms Sanders said her training sessions were designed to ‘raise awareness’."

How about some awareness for Ms Sanders?...

According to St Peter Damian, the sin of homosexuality "surpasses the enormity of all others," because:

"Without fail, it brings death to the body and destruction to the soul. It pollutes the flesh, extinguishes the light of the mind, expels the Holy Spirit from the temple of the human heart, and gives entrance to the devil, the stimulator of lust. It leads to error, totally removes truth from the deluded mind ... It opens up hell and closes the gates of paradise ... It is this vice that violates temperance, slays modesty, strangles chastity, and slaughters virginity ... It defiles all things, sullies all things, pollutes all things ... This vice excludes a man from the assembled choir of the Church ... it separates the soul from God to associate it with demons. This utterly diseased queen of Sodom renders him who obeys the laws of her tyranny infamous to men and odious to God... She strips her knights of the armor of virtue, exposing them to be pierced by the spears of every vice ... She humiliates her slave in the church and condemns him in court; she defiles him in secret and dishonors him in public; she gnaws at his conscience like a worm and consumes his flesh like fire. ... this unfortunate man (he) is deprived of all moral sense, his memory fails, and the mind's vision is darkened. "Coming Out Day" for 5 year olds?

Parents at a K-8 charter school in Hayward (California) were shocked to learn this week the extent to which their school is promoting gay and lesbian ideals to their daughter in kindergarten.

The parents were shocked to see a poster announcing that "Coming Out Day" will be celebrated at the school today. The school, Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science, chose not to tell parents ahead of time, but it is in the midst of celebrating "Ally Week," a pro-homosexual push typically aimed at high school students. When one mother asked her daughter earlier this week what she was learning in kindergarten at the school, the 5-year-old replied, "We're learning to be allies." The mother also learned that her daughter's kindergarten classroom is regularly used during lunchtime for meetings of a Gay Straight Alliance club.

Later this week, the school is slated to talk about families. The parents have noticed several posters promoting families, all of which depict only homosexual families. More controversial discussions can be expected through next week, as the elementary school continues to celebrate Gay and Lesbian History Month. On Nov. 20, the school will host TransAction Gender-Bender Read-Aloud, where students will hear adapted tales such as "Jane and the Beanstalk."

These parents are being advised by attorneys from Pacific Justice Institute. Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, "Do we need any further proof that gay activists will target children as early as possible? Opponents of traditional marriage keep telling us that Prop. 8 has nothing to do with education. In reality, they want to push the gay lifestyle on kindergartners, and we can only imagine how much worse it will be if Prop. 8 is defeated. This is not a scenario most Californians want replayed in their elementary schools."
