This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).
Modern Survival Blog reported:
The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.
Although I’ve seen and read several online blurbs about this vehicle of late, I decided to dig slightly deeper and discover more about the vehicle itself. The new DHS sanctioned ‘Street Sweeper’ (my own slang due to the gun ports) is built by Navistar Defense (NavistarDefense.com), a division within the Navistar organization. Under the Navistar umbrella are several other companies including International Trucks, IC Bus (they make school buses), Monaco RV (recreational vehicles), WorkHorse (they make chassis), MaxxForce (diesel engines), and Navistar Financial (the money arm of the company).DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs.
Via Pat Dollard:
The MRAP featured in this video is was in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Law Enforcement Day which was held at a local area Target Store. This MRAP is stationed in El Paso, Texas at The Homeland Security Investigations Office. MRAP is a Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicle.
YET ... our 4 organic charters, The Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, the North West Ordinance of 1787 and the Constitution MINUS slavery command us to Alter or Abolish and Reinstitute. It was understood at the time of these 4 Organic Charters that they were all based on the Anglo-American Common Law which flowed from The New Covenant, the Law Written on the Heart as summed up in Romans 13:10. Agape is the fulfillment of all law. Love requires us to ALTER OR ABOLISH.
After Viet Nam I became a staff battle planner for the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. In Viet Nam I had engaged in front line war as a team leader, rifleman and translator of the USMC's Combined Action Program. Reporting to Viet Nam January, 1969 we marines were not allowed into combat until taught by the Battalion Chaplain the Rules of Engagement based on the 10 Commandments.
At that time (I have an official Department of Defense document proving this - a copy of the page is available) every Officer in the 4 main branches of the U.S. military were required to read that the Constitution of the U.S. was based on The Law Written on the Heart and the 10 Commandments.
We front line marines were taught to obey ONLY lawful orders with proper AUTHORITY and JURISDICTION: Orders in accordance with the Law Written on the Heart and the 10 Commandments. The Chaplain taught us when commanded unlawful orders, e.g., murder -- we were to work together to properly DISOBEY ANY commander, including a general. AND … if the commander persisted we were to organize enough men to relieve that commander of duty and deliver him to the PROPER authorities and prepare to stand trial.
This is no longer taught in the U.S. Military. Sadly, many evangelical pastors, The Clergy Response team, do not teach Alter or Abolish and Reinstitute based on Christ's command of Civil Disobedience.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the US is to shelve the plan, which was first mooted by the Bush administration and has been a source of friction with Russia ever since.
The move would be a cause of celebration in Moscow but of real concern to Eastern European countries which have looked to Washington for support against their former imperial master Russia. The US has said the shield is to guard against attacks by rogue states, such as Iran.
The former Czech prime minister, Mirek Topolanek, said: "This is not good news for the Czech state, for Czech freedom and independence. It puts us in a position wherein we are not firmly anchored in terms of partnership, security and alliance, and that's a certain threat."
The Polish deputy foreign minister, Andrzej Kremer, said that Warsaw had heard from different sources there were "serious chances" the anti-missile system would not be deployed.
Russian officials said they did not want to immediately comment on media reports that cited unidentified US officials.

The following is from an e-mail by Dan Margolis, chair of the Communist Party in New York, celebrating our unique U.S. history of struggle and urging us to continue it this Fourth of July.
Dear friends,
Right now, I'm on a train from New York City, where the Battle of Brooklyn took place and our first capital, to Boston, land of the real Boston Tea Party, Lexington and Concord, the shot heard around the world, Paul Revere and lots more.
Then I plan to go on to Worcester, my hometown, and, more importantly, the city where the first national convention for women's suffrage took place, and also an early hotbed of abolitionist activity.
Today is the 4th of July, so I can't help but to think of the historical importance of the events that took place in this part of our nation, as well as the rest of the American revolutionary tradition. I hope that you will pause, as I am doing, to reflect on our shared history, a history of struggle for what is just.
The American Revolution, though incomplete at first, was one of what Vladimir Lenin called some 100 years ago the three "truly great" revolutions in world history: The American, the French and the Russian. The Revolution established the first democratic republic.
It wasn't complete at first, but its importance can't be overstated, and it laid the basis for further struggles: the Civil War and end to slavery, the fight for women's rights, the formation of the Communist Party, the formation of the labor movement and the CIO, the Civil Rights revolution of the 1960s, the fight against fascism in the 30s and 40s, the fight against U.S. aggression in Vietnam, Korea and Iraq, the continued fight for immigrant rights, to name a few things, all continue the spirit of 1776.
The 2008 election of Barack Obama, and now his presidency, are perhaps the biggest continuation of that spirit in a generation.
So take a moment to relax and celebrate with family and friends all that we've achieved so far--and all the victories to come, up to and including a socialist USA.
And let's recommit ourselves to the struggle. We're on better terrain than we've been on for any 4th of July in decades. We can win the fight for public option health care (sign the petition below), the Employee Free Choice Act, and more.
Happy Independence Day!
Dan Margolis
