Pepsi Cola Forms Gay Pride Organization - Boycott Pepsi Drinks, Frito-Lay, Quaker

From LifeSiteNews
By Thaddeus M. Baklinski

Soft drink giant PepsiCo is continuing its support and sponsorship of the homosexual agenda despite growing protest and a continuing boycott of Pepsi products that include Frito Lay chips, Tropicana orange juice, Gatorade and Quaker products.

The American Family Association (AFA) has revealed that according to a PepsiCo representative, Philene Frazar, PepsiCo is a founding member in establishing a homosexual activist group in Chicago called "Citywide Pride."

"Frazar, in a presentation during a 2009 homosexual advocacy conference, announced PepsiCo was instrumental in forming Chicago's 'Citywide Pride,'" said AFA president Tim Wildmon in a news bulletin. The Citywide Pride website says it "strives to educate and empower the LGBT workforce and their allies."

Citywide Pride events listed for 2009 include:
- Seminar on how gays can successfully adopt children
- Same-sex marriage tutorials
- "Recruitment and engagement" techniques training
- "Family Pride" days (this one particularly hosted by PepsiCo)

In addition, Frazer noted during the homosexual conference that PepsiCo regularly recruits and invites employees from smaller companies to attend a variety of gay pride parades with them, saying:

"It really is a true celebration of the entire community when PepsiCo steps out to be part of a parade. In most of these cities, we are giving out a sampling of all our product lines, which are as diverse as Tropicana juice, all the way to Frito-Lay chips. We also hand out cups and banners and whistles. It's really a true corporate presence once we hit the parade route."

The AFA encourages all concerned people to take action by stepping up the boycott and letting PepsiCo know their disapproval of their actions.

"We're asking people, number one, not to buy these products; and number two, and more importantly, to let Pepsi know that they're joining the boycott by going [online] and signing the boycott pledge," Wildmon said.

"Sign the Boycott PepsiCo Pledge," Wildmon enjoins. "After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda. If you will stay on the line, a live representative will take your call."

Another effective action the AFA advocates is to print the Boycott Pepsi petition and distribute it for signatures, including giving a copy to the manager of the grocery stores where concerned consumers shop.

Pepsi products include Pepsi Cola, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, Mug Root Beer, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867), Dole juices, and Aquafina bottled water.

From Our Mail: PepsiCo a Member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce

From: American Family Association

Re: PepsiCo Boycott

PepsiCo is a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). The NGLCC is an organization that promotes the homosexual agenda including homosexual marriage.

Other companies -- including Ford, McDonald's and Wal-Mart -- withdrew their membership from NGLCC after being asked to do so by AFA.

AFA has asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war, including homosexual marriage, but the company has consistently refused to do so.

• PepsiCo requires its employees to attend diversity training classes promoting the acceptance of homosexuality.

• PepsiCo financially supports "gay pride parades" in cities across America.

• PepsiCo gave $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). HRC gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort to legalize homosexual marriage in California.

• PepsiCo uses its TV commercials to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

Take Action!
  • Call PepsiCo's Board of Directors Concern Line at 1-866-626-0633 and tell the board of directors that you are boycotting PepsiCo and asking others to do the same.

  • Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda.

  • Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).

  • Tell your friends and family about Pepsi's support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi's support of homosexual organizations.

Pepsi Shareholders Hear from Ex-'Gay'

From OneNewsNow
By Charlie Butts

PepsiPepsico's board of directors has heard from a traditional values group about their support of the homosexual agenda -- and its alienation of the company's consumer base.

At the Pepsico board meeting in Dallas on Wednesday, Greg Quinlan of PFOX -- Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays -- offered a resolution to the board calling for full disclosure and accountability on contributions to charitable organizations. He tells OneNewsNow why he called on shareholders to support Resolution No. 6.

"Pepsico is giving a million dollars to the homosexual agenda, supporting groups like HRC, the Human Rights Campaign...the ninth-largest of all independent political action committees in Washington, DC," he says. "Also they have been giving money to PFLAG -- half a million dollars. PFLAG is Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays."

In a transcript of the speech he delivered today, Quinlan described HRC and PFLAG as "gay organizations that hate people like me."

Quinlan, himself a former homosexual, says he is pleased with the outcome of Resolution No. 6. As he explains, it only takes three percent of the stockholder vote to keep a resolution alive.

"And I was told by people in the know that if we got five to six percent it would be a miracle. We got over five percent," he shares. "That is an answer to prayer, and it keeps the issue alive in front of the Pepsico board of directors and in front of their shareholders."

related article buttonPepsico Foundation officials said they would be in touch with Quinlan to continue a dialogue on the issue. But he urged American Family Association members and others to continue the boycott against Pepsico because he believes it is helping set the stage for possible change. AFA announced the boycott in January.

Sunlit Uplands Reader Calls for Fairness in Pepsi Giving

We posted a story recently about PepsiCo stockholders who are critical of Pepsi's giving $1,000,000 in support of major sodomite advocacy organizations. But a Sunlit Uplands reader calls our attention to judgmental and discriminatory attitudes in Pepsi's giving. Surely, the SC sodomite bloggers will want to address this prejudice:

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "PepsiCo Opposes Resolution Regarding Donations to ...":

I demand fairness and equality for those men born with a natural sexual orientation of attraction to pre-adolescent boys.

As the North American Man-Boy Love Association explains:

"Man/boy love is exceptional only for the degree to which it is still misunderstood in cultures derived from Northwestern Europe. Most man/boy relationships are based on mutual respect and affection, and strongly desired by both partners. Such relationships do not harm anyone, and often entail many benefits for both man and boy. Boy-lovers and boys alike respond to the needs of those they love — needs for affection, understanding, and freedom. Who we are is perhaps best understood from Dr. John Money’s account of two boys, who speak about how they view their adult lovers: Andy – 'Just as normal as anybody else. He is like a second father to me.' Burt – 'He’s neat; and he’s nice, and gives me more respect than anyone ever has ... he treats me like an adult, not like my parents treat me. To me, he’s my best friend.'"

NAMBLA further explains on its website:

"The issue of love between men and boys has intersected the gay movement since the late nineteenth century, with the rise of the first gay rights movement in Germany. In the United States, as the gay movement has retreated from its vision of sexual liberation, in favor of integration and assimilation into existing social and political structures, it has increasingly sought to marginalize even demonize cross-generational love. Pederasty - that is, love between a man and a youth of 12 to 18 years of age - say middle-class homosexuals, lesbians, and feminists, has nothing to do with gay liberation. Some go so far as to claim, absurdly, that it is a heterosexual phenomenon, or even 'sexual abuse.' What a travesty!"

I agree with BodaciousBoi: fairness and equality for all, including boy lovers! Will Bodacious and Pepsi take a stand against all discrimination based on the sexual orientation with which someone is born?

PepsiCo Opposes Resolution Regarding Donations to Homosexual Activist Groups

The American Family Association reports that PepsiCo's corporate leadership is "opposing a shareholder resolution that requires it provide more information concerning its charitable contributions." The resolution will be voted on at the shareholders meeting May 6. The resolution reads:
  • "Resolved: That the shareholders request the Company to provide a semiannual report...disclosing: the Company's standards for choosing which organizations receive the Company's assets in the form of charitable contributions; business rationale and purpose for each of the charitable contributions; personnel who participated in making the decisions to contribute; the benefits to the Company and beneficiaries produced by Company contributions; and a follow-up confirming that the organization actually used the contributions for the purpose stated."
The resolution is in response to Pepsi giving a combined $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (the nation's largest homosexual organization) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesgians and Gays to promote the homosexual lifestyle in the workplace.

AFA is urging the following action:

Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda.

• Ask any shareholder you know to vote for the resolution.

Call the Pepsi bottler nearest you and ask it to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.

• Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).

Print the Boycott Pepsi Pledge and distribute it.

Pepsi Produces Another TV Ad Promoting the Gay Lifestyle

Pepsi has produced another TV ad not only promoting Pepsi but also promoting the gay lifestyle. Click here to see the ad.

Pepsi had released a similar ad before. The ads serve two purposes for Pepsi: to sell Pepsi and to promote the homosexual lifestyle. The American Family Association, which is leading a national boycott, has asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused - choosing to support the homosexual activists.

Pepsi has made no effort to hide their support for the homosexual agenda:

  • Pepsi gave a total of $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) to promote the homosexual lifestyle in the workplace.
  • Both HRC and PFLAG supported efforts in California to defeat Proposition 8 which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC, which received $500,000 from Pepsi, gave $2.3 million to defeat Proposition 8.
  • Pepsi forces employees to attend sexual orientation and gender diversity training where the employees are taught to accept homosexuality.
  • Pepsi is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

The American Family Association is urging all concerned Americans to take the following action:
  • Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott their products until they stop promoting the homosexual agenda.

  • Call the Pepsi bottler nearest you and ask it to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.

Boycott Urged as Pepsi TV Ad Pushes Homosexual Lifestyle

    From LifeSiteNews

After giving major financial contributions to homosexualist organizations, Pepsi is now using its TV spots to promote the homosexual lifestyle. In a recent spot aired in the UK, a man is shown in a bar being urged to ask out a girl that appears to be interested in him. He drinks a Pepsi Max to find courage, but then passes up two attractive women sitting at the bar and instead expresses interest in a man.

The American Family Association has urged a boycott of the company after asking Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war. Pepsi, however, refused, telling AFA that it will continue major financial support of homosexual organizations seeking to legalize homosexual marriage.

Pepsi has given $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest and most powerful homosexual lobbying group in America. The company also gave $500,000 to Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total gift of $1,000,000 to the two homosexual activist groups was to help promote the homosexual lifestyle in the workplace.

AFA notes that Pepsi also forces its employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training, where they are taught to accept homosexuality.

Kids Deserve Choice of Better Schools

(Originally published in the Newark Star-Ledger, 7/4/99)

As a sixth-grade public school student in 1963, I was asked to deliver a speech about brotherhood that my class had written to commemorate National Brotherhood Week. The riots that accompanied James Meredith's enrollment at the University of Mississippi had occurred a year earlier, and photographs of the dogs and fire hoses being turned on demonstrators in Birmingham, Alabama, were fresh in the minds of Americans everywhere.

The closing words of that speech, suggested by our teacher, have remained with me
ever since. They were the words of another Long Island student, an African-American girl, who said in a forensics competition, "Take my hand, for it is clean; take my heart, for it is pure; but do not refuse me justice because of the color of my skin, for if you do, I will refer you to God who made me."

The battle for universal civil rights, for freedom and opportunity for every American, has been the animating struggle of American history. It is a struggle that continues to this day. Meredith's struggle concerned the right of African-Americans to attend the college of their choice. Today, a growing number of parents, policy makers and citizens are beginning to demand recognition for a new civil right -- the right of poor Americans to send their children to the schools of their choice.

The opposition of modern-day teachers unions to school choice has placed them in direct conflict with poor inner-city parents, and with our American ideals of liberty and justice. The ultimate threat to government schools comes not from caring parents seeking the best schools for their children but from self-interested teachers unions, which secure generous salaries and benefits from monopoly school systems where, in inner-city neighborhoods, only one of every four students who enters the ninth grade graduates from high school.

In the years since delivering the Brotherhood Week speech, I have been privileged to work in Congress for the late Senator Hubert Humphrey, D-Minn., and in the White House for former President Bush. However, it was only in the past five years, while working in the inner-city for Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler, that I fully grasped how far many American school systems have strayed from their ideals.

In 1995, Pepsi-Cola Co. approached the mayor's office with a proposal that would have resulted in a contribution from the company to a college scholarship program for every case of Pepsi products sold in Jersey City. We thanked the company for the offer, but explained that the great majority of kids in Jersey City had no hope of going to college. More than half of those who enter public high schools drop out, and fewer than half of those who remain pass a basic test required for graduation.

Would Pepsi consider, we asked, contributing to a new, privately funded scholarship program being established to help low-income parents who want to send their children to private elementary and secondary schools? This plan involved no public funds, would ease the burdens on the city's overcrowded schools, and would let poor people exercise the same choices enjoyed by more affluent parents, including the majority of Jersey City public schoolteachers who send their children to private schools. Pepsi agreed, and the scholarship program was announced to an approving media and a grateful city.

But within a day, we saw how ruthless those in control of the education monopoly are prepared to be in order to thwart choice and competition. Pepsi machines in public schools were vandalized throughout the city, and an official of the public schools (whose children had attended private schools) called Pepsi officials into her office to state that school choice is "elitist" and to protest Pepsi's involvement in the scholarship program. The president of the Jersey City teachers union, who sent his son to an elite private school, threatened a New Jersey Education Association boycott of Pepsi products across the state if the company did not withdraw its scholarship offer. Pepsi complied.

The racial oppressors of Meredith's day were able to hold back racial justice for a time, but they ultimately were moved out of the schoolhouse door, allowing Americans of all races to enter. Those who oppress the poor today think they can do so forever, but they are on the wrong side of history.

School choice can be delayed, but it can not be denied. The most powerful human instinct -- the love of parents for their children -- will overcome today's heartless union bosses, who would leave children in schools where they have a better chance of dropping out than of receiving a diploma. Polls now show strong majorities in New Jersey and across the United States in favor of school choice. Political and religious leaders and the courts are increasingly giving the idea a thumbs-up.

Americans are starting to recognize school choice as an important chapter in the civil-rights movement. But what will history say of those who denied justice, stood in the doorway, blocked private initiatives, thwarted the potential and ruined the lives of so many millions of students? Perhaps, like the Long Island girl, we can only refer them to the God who made us all.
