Tomorrow's Man -- or Yesterday's

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Among the GOP victories in 2010, none was sweeter than that of Marco Rubio.

The charismatic young Cuban-American challenged Gov. Charlie Crist in a Senate primary, ran him out of the party and swept to victory by 19 points in a three-way race.

Among those mentioned as running mates for Mitt Romney, it is Rubio who generates the most excitement. That he is young, Hispanic and conservative, and his place on the ticket might secure Florida, are the cards he brings to the table.

Etch a Sketch Resets: Romney Hires Homosexual Activist for Key Campaign Role

Likely Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has named an openly gay man to his team of campaign advisers on national security and foreign policy issues in a move that is drawing criticism from some conservatives questioning his Mormon beliefs.

Richard Grenell, 45, is an experienced politician who has served as a spokesman for the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and was also appointed by Ambassador John Danforth in 2004 to serve as an alternative representative of the United States to the U.N. Security Council, SouthFloridaGayNews.com reported.

Grenell has been a prominent voice for gay Republicans and has worked for a number of GOP politicians, including New York Governor George Pataki, former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, and San Diego Mayor Susan Golding.

Time to Address the Notre Dame Scandal

Obama with a useful idiot.
In 2009, when the University of Notre Dame gave an honorary law degree to the tyrannical thug who illegitimately occupies the White House, this blog, along with more than 80 bishops and hundreds of thousands of American Catholics, loudly protested the outrage.  Less than two years into the current administration, there was already ample evidence of Obama's contempt for the Church and all that it stands for.  No administration has ever embraced the culture of death with more enthusiasm.  In response to the irrational decision by Notre Dame to honor Obama, men and women poured into South Bend to protest the scandal.  More than 80 went to jail because they could not, in good conscience, be silent as a flagship of American Catholicism honored the helmsman of evil, who not only has contempt for our beliefs, but would trample religious liberty.

We thought at the time that University President, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Richard C. Notebaert, were simply too proud to back down in the face of the national firestorm.  Surely now that what Obama is about has been fully revealed, now that raw evil has decided to use the power of the state to make Catholics not only violate their consciences, but to pay for the slaughter of innocent human life, those at Notre Dame, we assumed, must have recognized what practically all Catholics -- liberal and conservative, Democrat and Republican -- have now acknowledged about the Obama regime.

But that is not the case.

This past week, after Bishop Daniel R. Jenky of Peoria gave a courageous and brilliant address affirming that "no Catholic institution, under any circumstance, can ever cooperate with the intrinsic evil of killing innocent human life in the womb,” 49 Notre Dame faculty members denounced Bishop Jenky and called for his resignation from the University's Board of Fellows.  The reaction points up serious apostasy at a university that calls itself Catholic.  Once in the thrall of the father of lies, good becomes evil and truth becomes deceit.

It has been said that Obamacare is responsible for one extraordinary medical miracle -- across America Catholic bishops have grown spines.  We attribute that remarkable fact not to Obamacare, but to the moral and intellectual clarity of Pope Benedict who has appointed many of them.  But whatever the source of new-found moral courage, the sleeping giant of American Catholicism has roused from its slumber.  American Catholics strongly support the leadership of Cardinal Dolan and faithful shepherds like Bishop Jenky.  It is time to use the clarity, courage and commensurate public support to restore to the light of truth heterodox cesspools like Notre Dame.

Jimmy Carter Praises Romney as "Competent" and "Progressive"

America's second worst President sure confirms our view of the "presumptive nominee."

Prominent African-American Pastor Calls on Romney to Renounce Historic Mormon Racism

Pastor O'Neal Dozier
A prominent Florida pastor has called on Mitt Romney to renounce Mormon doctrines that are severely prejudicial against the black race.

Reverend O'Neal Dozier sees the offensive, anti-black Mormon doctrines as a ticking time bomb that the Obama campaign will undoubtedly use to rally its base among African-Americans.  He has published an open letter asking Dr. Richard Land, President of the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, to join him in asking Mitt Romney to "renounce historic Mormon racism."

Reverend Dozier, Senior Pastor of The Worldwide Christian Center Church in Pompano Beach, Florida, is also a former professional football player with the Chicago Bears and has been a friend and advisor to President George W. Bush, Governor Jeb Bush and former Florida Governor Charlie Crist.

Reverend Dozier's open letter to Dr. Land follows:

Pat Buchanan on Suicide of a Superpower

"The solution to America's problem isn't going to come even from a Ronald Reagan, it's going to take a Saint Paul."

Author and commentator Pat Buchanan discusses the disintegration of the United States as a superpower and a united nation with Uncommon Knowledge host, Peter Robinson.
Then out spake brave Horatius,
the Captain of the Gate:
"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods

What Coffee is Your Church Drinking?

By Charlie Butts

National Organization for Marriage (NOM) is continuing to encourage churches and believers to "Dump Starbucks."

Maggie Gallagher, co-founder of the traditional marriage advocacy group, says her group launched its boycott because of Starbucks' strong endorsement of the homosexual agenda (see earlier story).

"I was there at the board meeting this year in Seattle, where we asked the CEO, Howard Schultz, if it's really true that 'gay marriage' is now core, as one of its executives said, to the Starbucks brand, and he said yes -- that that was approved at the highest levels," she reports. "They've endorsed 'gay marriage' in the state of Washington; they've signed a legal brief, asking courts to overturn the federal definition of marriage."

Dump Starbucks (NOM)In just the first week of its Dump Starbucks campaign, more than 25,000 people signed the pledge. Now, Christians are being encouraged to find out if Starbucks is being served in their churches.

"We're going to speak up loud and clear to Howard Schultz and this insular group of Seattle liberals about whether a worldwide consumer company really should be making gay marriage core to its brand," Gallagher asserts.

She points out that Seattle's Best Coffee is also a Starbucks brand, and the NOM co-founder says additional plans for the campaign will unfold soon.
